So what's the big deal about Vermont anyway?
Well, we're the 43rd smallest state - just 151 miles long and 90 miles at it's widest and 9,249 miles in total area - 77% of which is forest - with a population of around 592,000. Vermont - from the French Vert (green) Mont (mountain) - was recently voted one of the six top places to visit in the world (and the top place in the USA) by a panel of judges for National Geographic Traveler magazine. With miles and miles of clear water, fresh air and mountains generously smothered with abundant forestry, rivers, lakes, shopping and nightlife, you can be as busy (or as lazy) as you want to be!
